Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of (1) Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the DBT sub-project entitled “Molecular characterization of variation of root system architecture among indica rice varieties” and (2) Research Associate (RA) in NIPGR “Short-Term Research Fellowships/Post-Doctorate Fellowships” programme, under the supervision of Dr. Ananda K. Sarkar, Scientist, NIPGR. The positions are purely temporary and are co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, but can be curtailed or extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority.

Eligibility Criteria :
Senior Research Fellow (one post): Candidates having M. Sc./M. Tech. degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics with at least 60% (equivalent) marks in master degree and a minimum of two years of Post M. Sc. research experience. Experience in rice research and Bioinformatics is desirable.
Research Associate (one post): Candidate having a Ph. D. degree in discipline of Life Sciences (including Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Plant molecular biology) can apply. Experience in Bioinformatics (analysis of next gen sequencing, miRNA sequencing data) and/or molecular biology (including protein-protein and protein-DNA interaction) is desirable.
Fellowship : The Fellowship amount for the positions will be given as per project sanction/ NIPGR fellowship at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST.
NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of post shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
