The University of Calcutta informally known as Calcutta University or CU) is a public state university located in Kolkata, West Bengal.Most programs are organized on an annual basis, though some programs are semester dependent. Most departments offer masters programs of a year or of a couple of years' duration. Research is conducted in specialized institutes as well as individual departments, many of which have doctoral programs.
Applications are invited in prescribed forms for the posts of S. N. Pradhan Professor of Neuro Science, Nagendranath Das Professor of Neuro Physiology and one Assistant Professor in the S. N. Pradhan Centre for Neuro Sciences
Specializations for the posts are given below :-
- Post Vacant (S. N. Pradhan Professor) : Neurobiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neurogenetics, Neurophysiology, Neuroanatomy, Behaviour, Cognitive Biology, Neuropathology
- Post Vacant (Nagendranath Das Professor) : Neurobiology, Neurogenetics, Experience on Neurotechniques and its application, such as, Stereotaxis, EEG, Brain Tissue sectioning and culture, etc.
- Post Vacant for Assistant Professor : Neurobiology, Neurogenetics, Experience on Neurotechniques and its application, such as, Stereotaxis, EEG, Brain Tissue sectioning and culture, etc.
- Appointments will be made on probation for one year which may be waived or extended in exceptional cases and will be guided by the rules as framed and / or amended from time to time. Candidates already in employment should apply Through Proper Channel.
- Applications ( 7 Copies ) in prescribed forms to be downloaded from the University Website or obtainable from the University Sales Counter, 87/1, College Street, Kolkata-700073, on payment of Rs. 300.00 (Rs. 75-for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped Candidates on submission of appropriate documents to Sales Counter) Should reach the office of the undersigned not later than 1st November, 2013.
- Those who will download the prescribed forms from the website of the University are required to attach a bank Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- (Rs. 75/- for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates along with appropriate documents) or US $20 drawn in favour of the Registrar, University of Calcutta, along with the filled-in prescribed forms containing mobile number, fax no. and e-mail address ( if any )
