The DBT-AAU Centre has a provision to award fellowship for pursuing Ph.D degree programme in the field of Agricultural Biotechnology from the financial year 2013-14. As such, applications in plain paper are invited from desirable candidates providing full bio-data and a brief synopsis of their Ph.D. (proposed or otherwise) programme. The salient features and guidelines of the fellowship approved in principle by the Scientific Advisory Committee of the centre are given below:
The fellowship will be awarded to the full-time students enrolled in the PhD programme of the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology, FA, AAU only.
The maximum duration a student will be allowed to avail the fellowship will be 3(three) years with a provision to extend for two more years provided significant progress is achieved and PhD committee gives specific justifications for such extension. Furthermore, the budget has to be made available from the funding organization in such cases.
The total value of the fellowship will be Rs.16,000.00 per month for Master degree holder in Agriculture or other professional streams and Rs.12,000.00 per month for other (General streams) students.
No other allowances like Contingency, House rent, Book grant etc. will be allowed on top of the lump-sum amount mentioned in (c).
A maximum of 5(five) fellowships will be provided each year, depending upon availability of fund in the budget of DBT-AAU Center.
The performance of the student will be reviewed at the end of each year by a committee so constituted and the next year’s fellowship will be approved upon satisfactory recommendation of the committee.
The applications along with attested photocopies of all testimonials and forwarded by major adviser must reach the office of the undersigned by the 30th May, 2013.
