Be a part of "Gene silencing in Sugarcane" research group @ Sugarcane Breeding Institute

Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Coimbatore, India, one of the pioneering Sugarcane breeding institutes in the world was established in 1912, with the main objective of evolving superior varieties of sugarcane suitable for various agro climatic zones in India.
It is proposed to fill up two posts of "Junior Research Fellow" under the scheme "Identification of RNA silencing mechanism in sugarcane against RNA viruses and characterization of virus suppressor" by Walk in Interview at Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Coimbatore on 18.10.13 at 9.00 AM
  • Post : Junior Research Fellow
  • No of Post : Two
  • Duration : For a period of 3 years or till winding up of the scheme whichever is earlier
  • Essential Qualification M.Sc in Life Science with experience in molecular biological techniques, molecular virology and RNA silencing
  • Desirable : Experience in designing and developing RNAi constructs, plant tissue culture & transformation and Bioinformatics. Qualification in CSIR-UGC NET or GATE (Biotech)
  • Remuneration : Rs 16000/- + 20% HRA pm for 1st and 2nd year and Rs 18000/- + 20% HRA for 3rd year
  • Age : 30 years for men and 35 years for women (Reservation as per GOI rules)
