Department of Botany, Punjabi University invited application for a JRF post | Freshers apply

Established on April 30, 1962 in the erstwhile princely state of Patiala with the main objective of furthering the cause of Punjabi language, art and literature, Punjabi University has since evolved into the largest University in the state. Spread over 600 acres of land, its 500 teachers are imparting instruction and guidance to nearly 9,000 students in a multi-faceted, multi-pronged and multi-faculty environment comprising 65 Teaching and Research Departments on its Campus, five Regional Centres, six Neighbourhood Campuses and 166 Colleges affiliated to it.
Applications are invited for one post of Junior Research Fellow to work in a SERB (DST), Govt. of India, New Delhi sponsored research project "Diversity Analysis and Bioprospecting of Thermophilic Cyanobacteria from the North Western Himalayas for Industrial Value Addition
  • Post : Junior Research Fellow
  • Tenure of the project : Three years 
  • Minimum Qualifications : M.Sc. in Botany/Life Sciences/Microbiology/Biotechnology with atleast 55% marks and NET/GATE qualified.
  • Age : Less than 28 years
  • Fellowship : (a) Rs. 16000/- HRA for NET(JRF)/GATE qualified candidates (b) Rs. 12000/- + HRA for NET(LS) qualified candidates
