Interview for temorary positions of Research Associate & Junior & Senior Research Fellow under the DST projects
Position/s & No. : RA & JRF (one each – SP-179) & SRF (one – SP-181)
Project :
  • DBT Project – 'Mobilizing QTL/Genes for quality Traits into High Yielding Wheat Varieties Through Marker-Assisted Selection’ (SP-179, period up to 22.09.2014) [Post Code: RA/JRF/GEN/SP-179] 
  • DBT Project – 'Molecular marker assisted development of biotic stress resistant wheat varieties' (SP-181, period up to 23.09.2014) [Post Code: SRF/GEN/SP-181]
  • Group/ Division Genetics : Group of Plant Sciences Division.
  • Qualification :
    • RA under SP-179- Essential : Ph.D. in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Agriculture/ Biochemistry with publications in SCI Journals 
    • Desirable: Experience in molecular markers/wheat quality analysis. 
    • JRF under SP-179- Essential : (i) 1st class M.Sc. in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Agriculture/ Agricultural. Biotechnology and (ii) clearance of CSIR-UGC/NET for JRF. 
    • Desirable: Experience in molecular markers/wheat quality analysis. 
    • Qualifications SRF under SP-181- Essential : 1st class M.Sc. in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Agriculture/ Biochemistry with 2 years of research experience as evidenced by 1-2 publications. 
    • Desirable : Experience in handling molecular techniques.
    Monthly stipend : i)RA-Rs.22000/- (fixed)+HRA, ii)JRF- Rs.12000/- (fixed)+HRA, iii)SRF- Rs.14000/- (fixed) + HRA
    Age limit : i)RA - 35 years, JRF-28 years & SRF-30 years (relaxation of 3 years for OBC & 5 years for SC/ST & female candidates).

The prescribed essential qualifications are bare minimum and mere possession of same will not entitle the candidate to be called for interview. In case number of applications received inresponse to the advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible for the Institute to interview all the candidates. The Institute may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
